Tara is a 2 x Ultraman World Champion and 4 X Ultraman World Championship Finisher, including a 2nd place finish with a broken leg. Ultraman is a three-day, 515 km (320 mile) multisport race held over three days and the World Championship race takes place on the Big Island in Hawaii, known for its harsh and challenging conditions, including intense heat, humidity, and mountainous terrain.
Day 1: The race starts with a 10-kilometer (6.2-mile) open water swim followed by a 90-mile (145km) bike ride, with vertical climbs that total 7,600+ feet.
Day 2: The second day involves a 171-mile (276 km) bike ride, with vertical climbs that total 8,600 feet.
Day 3: The final day concludes with a 52.4-mile (84 km) double-marathon under the beating hot sun.
Tara was crowned Champion 2x: First in 2018 and again in 2019 at 47 and 48 years of age, demonstrating there are no limits.
Ironman / Ironman 70.3 Races
With over 25 Iron-distance triathlons, and more than 20 top-10 finishes, Tara earned over 13 podium finishes as a professional triathlete, including a best Ironman time of 9:32. Tara qualified for the prestigious Ironman World Championship in Kona six times back-to-back, showcasing her consistent excellence and her strong endurance in the sport.
Extreme Multisport Races:
To further demonstrate Tara’s undeniable strength and versatility, Tara competed in a range of extreme multisport races, some of the toughest on the planet, including Canadaman, Embruman, and Savageman (where she claimed a 1st place podium position).
One of her most impressive feats came in the DOXA Threelay in Utah in 2018. The event spans over 36 different legs, totally 285 miles of swimming and biking and running and is typically shared among teams of up to 12, but after 36 hours of straight racing, Tara made history in 2018 as the first and only solo woman to complete the event.
Ultra-Distance Running Events:
Continuing to highlight her athletic prowess for ultra-endurance challenges, Tara has competed in many ultra-distance running events. She completed the 5-day Trans Selkirks trail race as well as the iconic Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim traverse of the Grand Canyon. Additionally, she has finished multiple 50-mile and 50K trail running events.
